Adele Springer

Mrs. Adele Springer grew up in two small towns of Alva and Perry Oklahoma. She attended 3 years at a regional university in Alva Oklahoma (NWOSU) before transferring to WNMU. Ms. Springer earned three degrees from WNMU: BS in Secondary Education with a Business Marketing Education (1996), BS in Criminal Justice (2001), MAT in Education with an emphasis in Business Management (2006).
Adele Springer is a life-time Mustang. She worked at WNMU as a work-study for three semesters while earning her undergraduate degree and she worked as on a temporary contract the week after she graduated in 1996 and never left. Her accomplishments at WNMU are 18 years as an Admin Secretary for the Business and Criminal Justice/Police Academy depts, 5 years as an Executive Assistant for the Vice President of Academic Affairs, 3 years as the Coordinator of Institutional Research and Academic Assessment.
Mrs. Springer is an active member of the Mustang community. She served on Staff Senate numerous times and has held every office on the senate; currently the President for the 2022-2023 year. And participates on multiple University Committees: University Planning Committee (UPC), UPC Budget Committee, Staff Senate Elections Committee, Staff Senate Assessment Committee, Staff Senate Salary and Classification Committee, Operational Efficiency Committee, Cheerleading Sponsor, Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) Advising Team, Professional Development Committee, Employee Engagement Survey (EES) Team, EES +1 Team Lead.
When not at work, Mrs. Springer enjoys traveling, creating data to help students, and watching sports.

Bobbi Dodson is the Director of Professional Development at WNMU. With a background in business operations, and program & process management, she brings over 25 years of experience to this position. She has a keen knack for building and bridging communication across all levels of an organization with an exceptional ability in building strong relationships with organizational staff, faculty & community members. She has a passion for people and her mission is to help others realize and use their potential to experience success. She loves a project…she and her husband are currently renovating a 100+-year-old historic home in Silver City, NM “Our goal is to restore this treasure to its fullest potential so that it lives on another 100+ years!”

Susan Villines has been with WNMU for 7 years and is the program coordinator at the Child Development Center. In her words…”I assist with all programs at the center. I’m also the staff representative for the WNMU Alumni Association. My hobbies include attending different functions to support WNMU and building relationships around campus. I also love traveling to go see my 2 sons in Colorado and Texas and spending quality time with my husband.”
Michael Acosta

Michael Acosta is a graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso with a B.A. in Music and has been an employee of Western New Mexico University since 2014. Michael began his career at WNMU as an Adjunct Music Instructor and has since held the positions of Manager of Media Technologies Services, Director of Media Technologies Services & Theater Productions, and most recently Chief Information Officer. Michael enjoy's serving his WNMU community and has earned the awards of Staff Employee of the Month, Outstanding Staff as selected by students, and the Presidential Leadership Award. Michael continues to teach one course per semester in music to keep touch with his field of study.
Bartholomew Brown

Bartholomew (Bart) Brown serves as the Director of Network Operations at WNMU. In this capacity, he oversees the Network and Systems Teams within the IT department, ensuring a modernized and secure environment for students, staff, and faculty. A Silver City native, Bart has been a dedicated member of the WNMU community since March 2016. Outside of work, he finds joy in backpacking and mountain biking adventures with his family.

I am currently in the middle of my term as a Staff Senator (2023-2025), where I am co-chair of the Rewards and Recognition Committee and co-Chair of the Salary, Benefits and Classification Committee. I have helped train new WNMU admins and have created a reference binder to help make our jobs a bit easier. I have previously been a hotel manager, career counselor, credit counselor and a homeownership specialist, teaching low-and moderate-income families how to get ready to purchase a home. Degrees: B.A. in English, University of Portland Began at WNMU: 2020 Hobbies, Interests, etc.: Published poet and artist, who hoards yarn, paper and art supplies and loves to create zines for my small mailing list. James is a member of the Advising Center as an Academic Advisor for Natural Sciences, Kinesiology, Mathematics and Computer Sciences and has been at WNMU for a little over a year. He has been very involved with Silver City and WNMU through the years as a Welder, Manager and Tax Accountant as well as various activities and sports in Silver City.
James says…”I love to spend time with my 12-year-old daughter and my wonderful wife. I enjoy playing Golf and exploring the vast outdoor experiences afforded here in Silver City.”

Kacie Peterson

Kacie Peterson is the Director of Foundation & Alumni Development with the WNMU Foundation and has been at the University for six years. Kacie’s roll includes fundraising for the University and managing the Office of Alumni Affairs, which engages with and promotes the successes of WNMU Alumni.
Kacie is an avid Mustang fan and rallies the troops to attend home games. She enjoys traveling, has a knack for interior design and décor, and just bought a “fixer-upper” to renovate into the family’s dream home.

Bryan Smith

Bryan Smith is the Director of Academic Computing at WNMU. Originally from Bakersfield California, Bryan accepted his current position at WNMU in 2016. Bryan graduated from California State University Bakersfield in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is currently pursuing his master’s degree at WNMU in Business Management and Psychology. He works every day to bring the best possible experience with technology to every student in order to help them achieve their educational goals. His interests include hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley.
